Lehenga Jewellery Set: Choosing by Neckline, Colour and Earrings

Aditya Kumar•October 25, 2026

How to choose a lehenga jewellery set: choker or long necklace by blouse neckline, colour by lehenga shade, and earrings that suit your hairstyle.

The right lehenga jewellery set starts with the blouse neckline: a choker or short necklace for a deep or sweetheart neck, a long necklace for a low neck, and statement earrings for a boat or high neck. Then match the colour to the lehenga, and choose earrings that suit your hairstyle.

This guide is for brides, sisters and guests wearing a lehenga to the haldi, mehndi, sangeet or reception. It covers our handmade floral, resin, acrylic, shell and beaded sets, and what each product page says about the outfit it suits. If you are choosing for the haldi itself, read our guide on how to choose haldi jewellery as well. If you are the bride, see our notes on haldi jewellery for bride too.

Choker or long necklace: start with the blouse neckline

The neckline decides how much of the necklace shows. Look at your blouse in a mirror before you look at sets.

Deep V or sweetheart neckline

An open neckline leaves room for either a choker or a long necklace. The Vivid Bloom acrylic set has peach-orange flowers with white beads, and its page says the necklace sits close to the neck, "so a deep or sweetheart neckline shows it best". The Sky-Blue and Light-Pink acrylic set, pictured at the top, has a long necklace instead, and its page says the same: a deep neckline shows it best.

Low or scoop neckline

A long, layered necklace fills a low neckline without crowding the throat. The Bloom Effulgence set, pictured in this section, has a floral pendant on four strands of white beads. Its page says "a low-neck blouse lets the long pendant show fully".

Boat neck or high neck

A boat neck or a high neck covers the collarbone, so a choker has little room and a long necklace sits on fabric. Let the earrings and the maang tikka carry the look, and wear a lighter necklace or none.

Heavily embroidered neckline

Busy embroidery competes with a busy necklace. The Pink Floral beaded set has a heavy choker with a pendant, and its page advises: "Keep the neckline simple so the choker shows."

Matching the set to the lehenga colour

Each of our product pages names the outfit colours the set suits. Use that line as your starting point, and hold the set against the fabric in daylight before the day.

Pink, blush or peach lehenga

Pink and white sets sit well on pink and peach. The Bride's Adornment pink blossom and cowrie shell set, pictured in this section, has pink rose-shaped flowers among white shells, with pearl-style bead strands falling from the choker. Its page says it suits a blush or peach lehenga. It comes with a maang tikka, drop earrings, a choker, a ring and a bangle.

Pastel blue, pink or white lehenga

The Sky-Blue and Light-Pink acrylic set mixes sky blue and light pink flowers with cream flowers, white beads and shell-shaped drops. Its page says the pastel shades stand out against a pale blue, pink or white lehenga.

White, cream or ivory lehenga

A pale lehenga takes a bright set well. The Flutter of Tangerine resin set has orange resin flowers with peach, mint and leaf-green petals. Its page says the orange stands out against a white or cream lehenga.

Yellow lehenga

For a yellow haldi lehenga, choose pink, white or orange flowers rather than more yellow, so the jewellery does not disappear into the fabric. Bloom Effulgence's page says its pink stands out well against a pale yellow haldi outfit.

Earrings for a lehenga, and the hairstyle that shows them

Earrings matter most when the necklace is small or left off, as with a boat neck. Choose them with your hairstyle and your dupatta in mind.

  • Hoop earrings and a low bun. The Vivid Bloom page suggests a sleek low bun so the hoop earrings stay clear.
  • Long drop earrings and hair tied back. The Flutter of Tangerine page says to tie your hair back so the maang tikka and earrings show. The Bride's Adornment page suggests a low bun to keep the earrings and choker in view.
  • Open hair. Long waves cover the side of the face. Pick earrings long enough to show below the hair, or sweep the hair to one side.
  • A dupatta over the head. It covers the top of the ear and the sides of the maang tikka. Try the dupatta on with the earrings before the day, and pin it so it does not catch on drops.

If you dance at the sangeet, shorter earrings swing less than long ones with chains.

How many pieces to wear with the lehenga

You do not have to wear every piece in a set. Most of our sets include a maang tikka, earrings and a necklace, and many add haathphool, a ring or a bangle. The product page lists the pieces in each one.

  • The bride at the haldi or mehndi: the full set suits the bride, who is the centre of both functions. Put the haathphool on after your mehndi has dried.
  • A heavily embroidered lehenga: choose either a statement necklace or statement earrings, not both. Leave out the haathphool if the sleeves are full.
  • A sister or guest: the necklace and earrings, or the earrings and maang tikka, are often enough.
  • Two functions in one set: wear the full set at the first and fewer pieces at the second, so the photographs look different.

Between functions, wipe each piece with a soft dry cloth and store the set somewhere dry, as our product pages advise.

What to check before you order

  1. Your own outfit. Look at the blouse neckline in a mirror and decide on a choker, a long necklace or earrings first.
  2. The photographs. Check where the necklace sits on the model's neck, and compare it with your neckline.
  3. The title and description. Read the line that names the outfit colours the set suits.
  4. The pieces included. The description lists them, such as a maang tikka, earrings, a necklace or haathphool.
  5. Customisation. For a different colour or piece, use the Customise your order button on the product page.

Where to look in our collections

The haldi and mehndi bridal sets collection has full sets with a maang tikka, earrings, a necklace and haathphool. The wedding collection carries sets for the functions around the wedding.

Final thoughts

Choose the necklace for your blouse neckline first, then the colour for your lehenga, then the earrings for your hairstyle. A deep neck takes a choker or a long necklace, a low neck a long layered one, and a boat or high neck is best left to the earrings. Wear fewer pieces when the lehenga is heavily embroidered.

Quick checklist

  • Check your blouse neckline in a mirror first.
  • Read the outfit colours named on the product page.
  • Hold the set against the lehenga in daylight.
  • Try the earrings with your hairstyle and dupatta.
  • Leave out pieces when the embroidery is heavy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which jewellery suits a deep neck or sweetheart blouse?

A choker or a short necklace that sits close to the neck, or a long necklace that drops into the opening. Our Vivid Bloom and Sky-Blue and Light-Pink acrylic sets both name a deep neckline on their pages.

What jewellery should I wear with a boat neck blouse?

A boat neck covers the collarbone, so a choker has little room. Wear statement earrings and a maang tikka, with a light necklace or none.

Should I wear a choker or a long necklace with a lehenga?

It depends on the neckline. A choker suits an open neck with simple embroidery, and a long layered necklace suits a low neckline.

Which earrings go with a lehenga?

Choose by your hairstyle. Hoops suit a low bun, long drop earrings suit hair tied back, and with open hair the earrings need to be long enough to show.

Can I wear floral jewellery with a lehenga?

Yes. Each of our product pages names the lehenga or outfit colours the set suits, such as a blush, peach, pastel blue or white lehenga.
